Project SMART

The Center for High-Rate Nanomanufacturing at UNH has hosted numerous high school and middle school groups from Salem, Concord, Monadnock, Oyster River and others. The students and teachers receive presentations on current nanotechnologies and their applications, tour our labs and facilities, and engage in hands-on activities.

CHN Faculty Visits

In addition to having students visit our facilities, CHN also sends faculty members to high schools and middle schools to give nanoscience presentations. Glen Miller has visited middle and high school auditoriums, cafeterias, and classrooms to discuss how "little science will change our lives in big ways," talking to as many as 330 students at a time, while Karsten Pohl has visited AP Physics classes to give nanotechnology presentations with a physics emphasis.  Last year, over 1000 students participated in CHN outreach activities at NEU, UML, and UNH.
